Bounce hires new junior camera operator from our work experience scheme

Elliot Goggins, now 21, originally came to work with Bounce Video through our work experience partnership with City of Oxford College when he was just 17.

The scheme supports a diverse range of 16-18 year-olds in Oxfordshire on the college’s creative arts media course.

Elliot did a placement with Bounce Video Production, working on location on an exciting American  documentary series called A Hobbit, A Wardrobe and A Great War.  He was also hired by the company as a production runner on several other university and third sector shoots.

Since completing his university degree in Film Production at SAE Creative Media Institute, Elliot has now returned to the company where he’s working as a freelance junior camera operator.

Bounce Creative Director Grace Gibbons says ‘The first moment I met Elliot at the college, I knew he had a real talent. I remember him showing me a college editing project and being ‘blown away’ by the quality and creativity of his cinematography. When Elliot got in touch after finishing his degree, I was delighted to be able to offer him work with Bounce.’

Elliot has been working on projects at the company ranging from interviews, to live streaming and event shoots.

Elliot says ‘having come out of college and then university and learnt theoretically about film production, it’s been great to get my first break in the industry with Bounce.  The best thing about the role has been working alongside a camera operator who has over 15 years’ experience and learning lots from him’.

Elliot has also found other opportunities through the company.  He says ‘I’ve been recommended by Bounce and am now working with two other video production companies in Oxfordshire and have even had the opportunity to work on a Formula One project.  I’m excited about where I go from here’.
