Bounce helps Brasenose College raise over £160,000

Bounce is thrilled to have collaborated with Brasenose College, Oxford, on their recent Oxford giving day campaign that took place on the 7th and 8th of December 2023.

Bounce crafted a compelling 2-minute campaign video and a series of social media shorts that helped the college raise over £160,000, more than doubling the total from the previous year.

The Unlocking Futures campaign aimed to raise funds for a new development, introducing the first new quad to the College in decades. The Frewin Annexe building will provide affordable, sustainable accommodation, aligning with the college’s commitment to offering every undergraduate live-in accommodation in central Oxford.

The film, narrated by the college’s current Junior Common Room president and 3rd-year English student, Alexi Loizou, delved into the theme of change within Oxford colleges. Viewers were taken on a journey through historical moments at the college, such as the construction of the Victorian quad, wartime usage for military personnel, and the admission of women in 1974.

The film employed various creative elements, including evocative sound design, inventive use of historical archives, and special effects.

College Principal John Bowers KC, a barrister and part-time judge, also featured in the film. He has been the Principal at the college since 2015.

Giving day – record campaign results

The Oxford giving day campaign unfolded over 48 hours, attracting more than 130 donors from the UK and around the globe.

Bounce collaborated on the project with the college’s Alumni Relations & Development Office, led by Development Director Dr. Julia Diamantis. The project lead was Development Officer Emilie Messenger.

Grace Gibbons, Bounce Video Creative Director, said, “It was a pleasure working with the team on this dynamic campaign. There was fantastic scope for creativity with the script, concept, and cast provided by Emilie and the development team. We’re delighted that the campaign was such a success for the college’s fundraising endeavours.”

Filming took place over a day at the college, at the new development and iconic locations like the quad, library, and commons rooms.

This marks the second Oxford college giving day video campaign for Bounce. In May 2023, the company created a series of four videos that contributed to Oriel College raising over £140,000 in their annual giving day campaign.
