Oxford college giving day

Bounce supports Lincoln College in raising a quarter of a million pounds

A Giving Day video produced by Bounce for Lincoln College helped raise over £250,000 during their annual campaign last month, exceeding expectations and demonstrating the power of creative storytelling in fundraising.

The funds will support inclusive access to the College through bursaries, as well as sports and societies, travel grants, and the maintenance of its historic spaces. These initiatives are vital in ensuring that students from all backgrounds are able to fully participate in college life, regardless of financial circumstance.

The fundraising film

Founded in the 15th century, the College is known for its iconic ivy-covered walls in the Front Quad, which turn deep red and orange in autumn. It also played a role in pioneering penicillin research, contributing to one of the most significant medical breakthroughs of the modern era. Its alumni include Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and novelist John le Carré, reflecting a long tradition of academic and cultural influence.

Their global community came together for 36 hours as part of wider 600th anniversary celebrations, with activity spanning both digital and in-person events. Alumni, students, fellows and supporters from around the world took part, reinforcing the strength and reach of the Lincoln College network.

Bounce created a two-minute ‘day in the life’ concept film designed to immerse viewers in the rhythm and atmosphere of the College. The film follows a student journey from early morning to evening, capturing quiet academic moments, social interactions, and the unique character of the College environment.

In the opening scene, a student looks out of her window at dawn, with sunlight streaming in. As filming took place during one of the wettest winters on record in the UK, this effect was achieved by shining a light through the window in heavy rain, demonstrating the team’s adaptability and creative problem-solving on location. The film also features scenes with the women’s football team and the choir, highlighting the diversity of student life beyond academics.

The creative approach focused on authenticity and relatability, aiming to connect emotionally with viewers while clearly communicating the impact of donations. By centering the narrative around a real student experience, the film helped donors visualise exactly what their support makes possible.

Bounce worked closely with the Lincoln College development team throughout the process, from initial concept through to final delivery, ensuring the film aligned with campaign messaging and fundraising goals. This collaborative approach helped maximise engagement across multiple platforms, including email, social media, and live campaign moments.

Bounce is fast becoming known in Oxford as a specialist in fundraising campaigns, having previously supported colleges including Brasenose, Oriel and University College to raise over £1 million through a range of creative video concepts. Their work combines cinematic storytelling with strategic insight, helping institutions cut through and connect with their audiences in meaningful ways.

As Giving Days become an increasingly important part of university fundraising strategies, high-quality video content is playing a central role in driving engagement and donations. This campaign is a strong example of how thoughtful creative can translate directly into tangible impact.
